This tour will introduce you to the historical center of St. Petersburg. During several photostops, you will see the largest Orthodox church in the city, enjoy the elegant exterior design and spectacular interior of the cathedral. St. Isaac’s Cathedral is the fourth building in the history of the construction of this ensemble, the architect is Auguste de Montferrand, the cathedral had to be the main church in the Orthodox holy empire during the reign of Nicholas I.
The next momentous spot is the Spilled Blood Church, one of the most crucial places in the history of Russia. It was built in memory of Alexander II, on the site where monarch was mortally wounded. Funds for the construction of the church gathered from all over Russia. The exterior of the building is a collective image of the Russian Orthodox Church, inspired by the architecture of St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow. The interior is filled with diverse mosaic expositions.
